We are a professional technical group playing an integral role in the growth and development of the Electrical/energy sector regionally ; with a cadre of well trained STEM practitioners Operating at international standards and adhering to best practices.
Mission
Vision Statement
To provide electrical work locally and regionally maintaining the highest standard Adherance to all applicable safety standards, Code(s) regulations, promotion of Ethics ,Good Values ,Fair Play and professionalism in the electrical sector.
Our Objectives
Our Objectives mission is to provide electrical contacting work of the highest standard which is safe and code compliant, maintain Ethics in the sector , embrace new technologies, preservation of the environment ,professional development and training of electricians/aspiring electricians and help with growth and development of our country and the wider Caribbean. We will also be working with other stake holders and interest group on electrical and energy matters in Jamaica.
Our History
The Jamaica master Electricians Alliance was formed in the year 2019 as group of professional licensed/registered electricians, contractors, business personells, Licensed Electrical Inspectors and electrical/mechanical engineers. We are a network of electricians operating across Jamaica and a lobby and advocacy group for stakeholders in the electrical sector.
The electricians in our network have an average of 30 years practical experience and academic qualifications from the vocational level to university level. We have worked in the bauxite/alumina sector ,major utilities company, hospitality sector, major manufacturing facilities, commercial complexes and major housing developments.
More About Us
We are licensed/registered by the Government Electrical Regulator Via the Electricity Act 2015 and the Electrical work ,registration and Licensing 2020 regulations. We will always strive to follow all applicable laws ,regulations code and safety standards of the land and work with new regulatory body for the benefit of all.
There are over 1500 practicing licensed/registered by the Government Electrical Regulator which falls under the Ministry of Science Energy and Technology . All licensed/registered electricians which comprises three Categories 1, 2 ,3 have to sit an oral and written examination and have a minimum of five years practical experience; there are also three classes of Licensed Electrical Inspectors Class 1,2,3 about 30 percent are engineers with qualification ranging from bachelors to doctorate.
Renewable energy and energy conservation and protection of the environment are issues our network will be playing an active and proactive role in. It is also our aim to assist licensed/registered electricians, training institutions, Apprentices and Technical Electrical Assistance with training and personal development.
